All three books were just too silly and immature for me, and given Young Adult is my second favourite genre trust me when I say this was just NOT GOOD. Yes I know that teenagers are the intended audience, and it was written almost 30 years ago, but still. But right off the bat I knew that the Forbidden Game trilogy would be at best a 2 star read because of how silly and immature it is. In 2020 I read the Dark Visions trilogy which was a 3 star read for me. Plus in a way I got to relive the series again, which I absolutely loved. The plot, especially of book 4, is absolutely ludicrous but I could not care less because it was just such a fun read. Finally! And I got it at KES 100 (less than $1) to boot. 4 years later the search was finally over. And since then I have been looking for book 3 & 4 everywhere!! So when I finally found it this year among the secondhand book vendors in the CBD I legit squealed with joy. I read book 1 & 2 of this series 4 years ago as part of my 2015 reading challenge. Being able to compel people sounds like the best thing in the world. Of all the supernatural beings I think vampires are by far the coolest. The Awakening & The Struggle and The Fury / Dark Reunion and in my review of The Fury / Dark Reunion, which I read in 2019 and rated 4 stars, I wrote: I enjoyed the four primary works in The Vampire Diaries series i.e. Whew! The Forbidden Game trilogy was 750 pages of silliness and immaturity □□□
